Greece has approached a decision on another fighter aircraft purchase. The Greek Defense Ministry said the Foreign Affairs and Defense Council was expected to decide the procurement of a combat aircraft by the end of July. The statement, issued on July 14, did not elaborate. Officials said the Defense Ministry has been examining the feasibility of purchasing 30 European fourth-generation fighters. They said the Eurofighter Typhoon was the favorite, with France’s Rafale and Sweden’s Gripen as alternatives. The expected procurement of a European fighter was meant to honor Greece’s commitment in 2000 to purchase the Eurofighter. At the time, Athens pledged to procure up to 60 aircraft, a decision that was shelved in 2005.

I would LOVE to see Rafale picked but Typhoon might also be a nice addition to HAF. JAS39 is left with little chance, IMHO.
What do you think about the future winner?
