Just read two articles about the test-launch of a Scud-D in eastern Syria. Reportedly, the Israeli Green Pine Radar followed the test. I’ve got a couple of questions about it.
1) What would be the range of Green Pine, in order to pick up a missile that far?
2) How can the radar discriminate on such a large distance?
3) What type of radar is used for the Green Pine radar?
4) Is the Patriot radar capable of doing the same, i.e. same distance?
5) What is the use of such a long range if the missile is to be intercepted not far from Israeli soil?
