I respected him as a mod and a member of the forum, as I do most of my fellow members, but other than that I have no personal knowledge of him at all.

Early days, Linc. I recall posting a “smile” a few months ago when it had been barren for nearly a week!!! So, don’t read too much into it….;) I doubt that even those of us who will miss GA, will let it affect the ups and downs of our day to day lives.

Just looking through, and see there has been nothing posted on the “What made you want to smile today”Post,for the last 2 days, Ironicaly it was BLUE……2 who last posted, guess there is a message there somewhere.

I hadn’t realised that GA was Modern Military mod aswel, blimey he must have taken on the two heaviest going sections.
There seems to be moderators listed in the boxes in the various sections that either arn’t here any more or don’t show up an awful lot, has there been any rationalisation of the modding side of things recently?

Jim, you don’t have to be a computor whizz to come back to the forum under a different name, or even start out with a couple of different names.

Having said that though James, just about all the dross I dealt with in my 30 yrs all had their own M.O. and if we all keep our eyes open, we could perchance see somewons M.O. showing, and tell the Mods. There again what we realy want, and I don’t think we are all that far away is a Retinal Scan to enter sites, expensive, but I bet we are not far off.

Good morning James, I agree with what you say, it’s a shame realy that what you say, is so, and nothing can be done about it.
Having said that however, it’s nice to see somewon who is so popular getting so much support.

Mods have been told before Peter, many moons ago as you well know, and then allowed to return. At least one of those was guilty of being racist, to be discriminatory against disability and of threatening actual physical violence to a member.

But of course, that couldn’t happen now could it?

The trouble is Kev, and I know for a fact cos he told me, he had been banned, but easily had for want of better words, over ridden the system and got back on here. How do the Mods prevent that happening. There are very many computor whiz kids out there that can just about bypass anything.
The case of the English youngster who hacked into NASA is a prime example.

Treading carefully here but we cant be everywhere and monitoring every member or post on the forums. If there are issues or problems with banned members returning under new names that we are not aware of drop a note via pm to the mod team.

Perhaps the more pertinent question should be why posters who post on threads who are serially provocative, vitriolic and verbally aggressive are allowed to remain?

They remain because the moderation/admin team choose to allow them to remain. You might regard that as a failure or you may choose to regard it as allowing balancing forces to remain in play.

Kev, the subject of Lance’s glowing credentials as a mod is one subject where we’ll have to disagree. I’ve seen Lance goad people to the point where he can throw his weight around several times and I can’t remember a time when he’s admitted when he’s wrong, preferring to throw his weight around instead. Perhaps it’s better if he played on a level field instead?

a question would be.. why are those who are banned allowed to return. can think of several people here who simply made new accounts after they were banned.

Yes, I can think of one particularly troublesome member who reinvented themselves after a ban.
