Gripen a UK design?

I have been reading a book called “From Spitfire to Eurofighter’ by
Roy Boot, and in it is a design for a Light weight fighter “P106b” (I
think), It is identical to the Gripen, was the design
influenced/copied from the Warton design team and Roy Boot????.

Page 80 of Roy Boots book for the picture, top of 82 for the specs, Roy Boot spent some time shuffling between Warton and Sweden too!!!.

They do seem rather too close for coincidence!!!.
