Ground equipment screw jacks

Gents,
We have plans next winter (16/17) which require us to make some trestles for the Lancaster, in order to do this we need to try and locate some screw jacks (4 in total), I have added a photo of the type we need.
If anyone has any or any leads on them please let me know.

Hi All,
Andrew,
What about the team at Coventry airport were they installed the BoB’s Lanc new wing spar ? or you could try contact Laurent Boulestin as he may have a spare from his Lancaster restoration ? :- nookybooky5@yahoofr.

Dear NX611 there is a multitude of aircraft jacks out which would come close to what you need…..Getting the exact type is always nice but you can get away with extenders on the shaft or packers on the supports to make up for an in-exact fit. You can even make your own and Im sure your engineers are up to the task. Aircraft screw jacks are not the most sophisticated piece of kit and in large measure are pretty agricultural… .good luck.

Thinking a bit sideways here. Presumably the BBMF have a suitable set of jacks when they work on the Lancaster. As PA474 will be ‘resting’ at Duxford for the winter and most of next year these will become temporarily surplus to requirements, could they be loaned out to help NX611 ?. Unless off course the jacks and other servicing equipment is being loaned to ARco for the reworking at Duxford.

Sadly I have previously spoken to them and they suggest they do not have the type we need.

Hi Andrew,

I was at the Air Fair at Hooton Park on sunday and The Griffin Trust had a couple of what looked like similar jacks on their stall.

I didn’t pay them much attention, given I have no Lancaster to get up on trestles, but it might be worth contacting them?
