GRP Merlin Engine ???

I was talking to a chap the other day who was in contact a couple of years ago,with someone in Germany who actually produced a full size GRP/Resin Merlin engine.
Obviously it was for display purposes only and I’m told it consisted of the block and both banks.
Other ‘ancillary’ items were then added to make it look authentic including the ignition harness etc.
I don’t know if a supercharger was copied or not.
Has anyone come across this before ?
I know there is a 3D project on the go a the moment which has appeared on the forum although I can’t find the thread.
Is it possible to make a GRP/Resin copy of a Merlin ??

Or if they don’t need to be hard metal do a cold-cast with resin/metal powder. Looks the business and a lot cheaper.

Hmmm;

I’d like to see that full size Merlin resin model too, if you can recall the website. I’ve seen a few smaller models, presumably some kind of plastic, but not full sized.

Thanks, Tom Kay.

I can’t recall the thread, but I saved the links within which illustrate the 3d printed parts to date.

Interesting stuff. Since he has the 3d models, he could even get the parts cast up in metal in 3d printed sand casts, if he wanted to.
