Grumman Goose

Isn’t it the one that is available for rent in ireland ? Goose is one of the next projects I have in mind…We used to have G21 in french navy and nothing survived…well except….

In real life, It would make good use for SEALS/SF Units, etc.

Howabout using the Douglas A-1 Skyraiders?, They have a back compartment which could carry a small Commando squad.

Good to see classic Arnie film ‘Commando’ soooo bad in sooo many ways, but it’s one redeeming feature (apart from pretty air stewardess) is the use of a Grumman Goose to get to the Island.
The final shot of the Goose flying off into the sunset is very atmospheric….

I was watching that and i do agree the final shots are very atmospheric. Just a shame about the credits over the top and channel 5 squashing it down to tell us about what was on next.

I took a break from the needle…………there’s only “sew” much stitching up of Hurricanes a man can take before he goes a bit “dopey”….. 😀

Caught the end of the ‘Skybound’ programme on Amphibians last night on Disco wings, they described the Chalk’s Turbo Mallard as a Turbo Goose! (slightly lost credibility there….)
The question I have is:
What is the Plural for a Grumman Goose?

Is it Grumman Gooses, or Grumman Geese?

Answers on a postcard please…..

And there was me thinking it was left outside in case it had been smitten with Bird Flu…………… 😮

as stated the goose arrived in from weston on saturday for an extended maintenance program by ARC. it is expected to be at duxford for several weeks.
grab your camera while you can but you dont need to rush

Ozplane, thanks for the info, always been a fan of the Grumman Amphibians!
I have flown on a couple of Mallards (Chalks Miami-Bimini-Nassau & another Long Beach-Catalina Island, can’t recall the operator), but never a Goose.
Do you know how long it will be there?

OOOH lovely, one of my ‘lottery win’ aeroplanes….must be all those hours of Tales of The Golden Monkey i watched when i was a nipper…
