He was Marcel Dadi , a good friend of Chet Atkins a master of picking.
This guy was one of the unfortunate passengers of TWA800 flight.

…and #2.As for St. Anger, personally I find the production absolutely laughable. The drums alone almost ruin the entire CD. The only song I find myself getting into on the whole album is the opening track.
While this album is definitely “more metal” than Load or Reload, they would have done well to use Bob Rock’s talents as a producer to get a nice production job. I know this is what they were going for, the “live from the floor” sound, but listen to Megadeth’s Youthanasia from 1994. Same recording concept, but it sounds much better. Guess we know who really sits atop the heavy metal hill now, don’t we? 😀

Here’s two of my major influences. The first should be recognizable to any self-respecting metal-type guitarist. MAJOR props if you can ID the guy in #2…

5 is Eric Johnson (cant stand him, he sounds like a punch drunk church organist)

Recently listened to a mates copy of the new Metallica album, some good tracks in there buried by absolutely crap production, the snare sounds like an old rusty oil drum!
Regards, Dazza.

Metallica’s recent release, St. Anger, clearly substantiates the fact that the band’s newly adapted music style represents a rather dramatic turn for the worse. In comparison to Metallica’s earlier, more heavy and more melodically oriented productions, i. e. …and Justice for All, Master of Puppets, Ride the Lightning, Black Album and the highly successful project designated S & M, St. Anger is situated on a lower level. It denotes “nu-metal.”
I would also like to continue this thread by adding additional photographies featuring excellent guitarists whom I respect and appreciate, especially with regards to their massive and invaluable contributions to heavy rock music as well as metal in general. Please try and name them correctly.

Metallica themselves say St. Anger is kind of album they have never done before and Hetfield himself said its nu-metal. I like the song thou.
