Guess the Ship- Modern Navy

Ok well the other GTS was good, but the usual crowd didn’t play along so I have made two, a modern one and a past one hope this is acceptable for all- enjoy it and please NO HIJACKING. If you have questions about other ships and such, start another thread.

Enjoy the modern ones and stay safe all

trpsarge: Keep me informed mate, the Irish navy is one of the forces that I enjoy looking at and reading about.

As for Eithne, I heard not long ago that she was up for replacement too. This was due to the fact that her aviation facilities are not able to handle the larger Aw-139 helo that has recently been bought and that the Dolphin’s have been retired from service. Like I said, I hear these things but since that is on the other side of the world, I can’t confirm them.

Eithne is not due for replacement for sometime yet, it is actualy L.E. Emer that is due for retirement with in excess of 30 years service but the invitation to tender has gone out for the placemnt of the three PVs Emer Aoife Aisling and is due back earler next year.

Ok well since there are no final bids, here is the last vessel….

LE Eithne of the Irish Republic Naval Forces, this vessel is due for replacement and is the largest vessel in this service and the only vessel in the service with organic air cover.

I’m busy all this week, tune in next week for the next game!

Wan: Not bad for our Armidale Classes little brothers are they 😉 I like the twin 25mm gun on the front backed up with the two .50cals aft of the bridge. If you go to the Austral website you can see the specs for these vessels- they are rather impressive!

i will quote for the fourth one: a ex uscg reliance class cutter with a second life as a navy opv.

i was sure that this bridge/superstructure design was familiar to me but i never thought about the uscg. 😉

Well done Aya- if anyone knew it would be you. OK I’ll give, it’s the Uruguayan Navy vessel Pedro Campbell (ROU-2).

As for the other guess- sorry mate, try again.
