I did warn you that they would get harder, Wan, don’t be so quick this time ok, but answer them if you can, don’t think you have any hair left to tear out 😛

Hey mate just becarefull how much hair you cut off, sure I was in the navy, but others here weren’t so they might not understand craziness 😉 Besides, I don’t want you getting banned, you’ve become a very good help for me

Ok here is the full list of ships in this round, next time it won’t be as hard.
1. LA Eithne (the only helo capable ship currently serving in the Irish Navy- what you can see is the Hanger door).
2. HMAS Brunei
3. GNS Lutjens
4. HMNZS Manawanui (New Zealands diving tender- she’s been very active lately trialing new gear and also conducting Patrols since the retirement of HMNZS Canterburry).
5. Super Dvora Mk2 of Israel.
And here is a pic of the last two for you all.
Eithne
Manawanui

Oops I forgot to post the pic.
Here you go.

Well done Can, it is indeed HMAS Brunei, our most used Landing craft currently deployed to the Solomon Islands and previously deployed to Bougainville.
In the last 10 years she only spent a combined total of a year at home.
Ultima: Sorry mate, try again
I didn’t think the first pic would be so hard, I actually thought it would go first, interesting!
By: Ultima - 20th July 2005 at 03:28
I’m not entirely sure, but the first picture reminds me of an aircraft carrier. Nimitz class would be too obvious, so I’m going to guess it’s the Enterprise.
By: Canpark - 20th July 2005 at 02:08
OK, the ship in the second picture shows a Balikpapan Class landing craft, or HMAS Brunei.

Hey Can, just off topic, I read that the leader of the VPLA recently died age 91, is there to be a national day of mourning for him considering his many contributions to the country?
Hi Ja, I think you’re talking about General William Westmoreland, he died yesterday at the age of 91. He led US forces during the early phases of the American/Vietnam War.

Hahahahahahaha, perhaps I have made it too hard. Good going on the Super Dvora MkII yes it was and that is the same pic I used, well done.
Keep at it guys, three left and you will be suprised when you see what they are (sorry Wan mate, all those other guesses were very wrong and don’t kick yourself over them.
By: Wanshan - 19th July 2005 at 18:34
Rough guesses on the other images:
1. some kind of auxiliary rescue/salvage ship (note firefighting gear)
2. Asian navy landing craft (chinese? viet?)
4. Either an OPV (like spanish Serviola) or an MCMV (e.g. Oksoy).

Number 3 picture is very distinctive: it combines an AN/SPS-40 2D Air Search Radar with the Mk 86 SPG-60 and SPQ-9A Fire Control Radars
Found on Charles F. Adams class (DDG 29) destroyers supplied to Germany (Lutjens class)
Lutjens is the easiest of these 5 pics :diablo:
I first suspected the last image to be an Iranian coastal patrol craft of the MIG-G-1900 or MIG-S-2600 Class (due to what appeared a twin 23mm cannon mounted up front). But it is in fact a Super Dvora Mk2

The last picture shows an Israeli patrol boat, but I can’t remember what its called.

Very good mate, you got it, it Is Lutjens herself. Well done

Lutjen Class Destroyer ?
Photo Ship 2_5 (third photo of the 1st row) represents a CFA Adams class destroyer.
Probably a Lutjen Class Destroyer of the German Navy
