the lightning was i think XG327. also their was another lightning XP341 i think, also a devon i cant remember the serial, a JP T4, a hunter, two whirlwinds, a VC10 fuselage,a vickers viscount, two phantoms ex 74 sqn one of which was ZE360, and a whispering wheelbarrow, plus of course the almost destroyed victor.

i do have photos of most of them if anyones interested?

From various editions of Wrecks and Relics I find these tidbits of info:-

Vulcan XL386 was removed from Manston during August 1993, in a well deceased state, apparently, by Hanningfield Metals of Stock. It had flown in 26/8/82 from 101Sqn.

Last Shackleton was WL741, which flew in by 5/81 and apparently perished in 1987.

Meteor F8 โ€“ last was WK803 โ€“ consumed by 3/77 or T7 WF816 โ€“ gone by 1976.

Is the Lightning F1 XG327? (Arr 23/4/77 โ€“ departed the same time as XL386).

Just the ones mentioned in W&R โ€“ if they arenโ€™t the ones involved then maybe the wreckage survived longer than the informants knew!
Hours of fun with these books(!).

Gaz,

Do you know which aircraft this is and if possible could you post a pic if you have one?

Thanks in advance

Anybody with a decent collection of Wrecks and Relics could answer that one, eh Flood? – Nermal
