Oh my god Melvin. Please don’t get eaten by a Tiranosaurus Rex III. 😮 Isn’t it dangerous with all those dinosaures in that spare room. 😀 No problem if you can’t find those pics. I think it’s the one on the pic from B-17man. With it’s registration, I can browse the net myself to find some more confermation.
Thanks though for this humorous reply! 🙂
Cheers,
J.V.

It would be great if you could post one Melvyn. Maybe I will recognize it.
Thanks,
J.V.
It depends whether I can get down to that layer in the spare room. Last time I tried I unearthed three previously unknown dinosaurs and the excavations took weeks. There are whole tribes of people missing in my spare room.

Quite possibly the one that pranged eventually at Binbrook. I remember that one displaying at La Ferte around 1987. I have photos somewhere.

Nice shots Guys. It’s interesiting to see that G-FORT had no turrets. Where there other B-17’s flying in europe in the eighties without gunturrets. I remember I saw a aluminum shemed B-17 on a belgium airshow around 1985-1986. I was only 4 or 5 years old, so forgive me if I don’t recall the registration of this plane. 😮 Was it G-FORT or maybe another European based B-17 without turrets?
Greets,
J.V.

Thunderbird
Amazing to see they are still flying her with that Non Standard nose cone
I saw Thunderbird at her home at Galveston and they painted the interior a garish grey colour – however she makes a great sound when she is up there

It’s a French jobbie alright.
Mary alice was delivered in pieces.
Hendons came from the states and is vastly different to this.
Yank 17’s tend to have Neptune/B-29 wheels, this still had 17 wheels on and I think Pink Lady still does, Sally has 29’s on.
It could be Thunderbird, Chateu-du-verneil, or Pink Lady.
I think it is Chateu.

Looks like Hendon’s B-17G after flying into UK.
But then again, thinking about, I’m sure that had the chin turret when it arrived, it was the yellow paint that looked familiar. 😮

The four small rectangular windows on the lower nose look like those on Thunderbird, so I am with Daz on his second guess.

I’d say “Mary Alice” (44-83735) upon arrival at Duxford during the mid-70’s
