A friend is looking after some graves in a church in Guiting Power in Gloucestershire. One of the graves concerned is that of “560125 Flight Sergeant W.T.C. Morman, Pilot, Royal Air Force, 16th October 1940, Age 30”.
Does anyone here have any background to this pilot’s service?

From Flypast July 2004.
Pilot disappeared on ferry flight from Squires Gate to Little Rissington. His body was found in the Mersey River on 3/11/40. The unit was 1 AACU. Aircraft serial was L3316, which was a Hawker Henley.

His Mentioned in Despatches (MiD) was for operations in Waziristan, during the period 16th December, 1937, to 31st December, 1938
