Whilst reading the september issue of Airliner world i noticed a whole page on Gulf air Islamic art.
I don’t think Islamic art is necessary.
It is probably costing Gulf air a fortune.
It may look nice but WHY do thay need it.

Totally agree with the majority; that is, I salute GF’s efforts in celebrating their 50th year of operations. The designs are beautiful, and a welcome change from their (equally impressive) standard livery.

I’d hate to hear what you think of VH OJB ‘Wunala Dreaming’ & VH EBU ‘Nalanji Dreaming’ and their colour schemes. Such colour schemes brighten up the already too corporate skies. Gulf Air designs are not extreme, like Braniff, or Western Pacific airlines, and show off the Islam culture very well. custom paint jobs increase customer awareness so hopefully increase their customer numbers.

Hi,
I think the gulf art on the Gulf airs aircraft looks great. I agree with Philb all what he has said. They celebrated 50years and they are rich so why shouldnt they do so. Let it cost as much . These aircrafts look fabulous. I have seen them quite closely and it’s really great. For GUlf Air painting a few aircrafts like this is NOTHING.

Kabir

I quite like the liveries Gulf Air are using to celebrate it’s 50th. Anyway, it seems quite commonplace for a carrier to bring out special liveries to celebrate a special event, ie Continental 777 “2000 livery”, Singapore Airlines 50th “birthday”. People should be used to this kind of thing now.

What is the point of your post?
Are you against Islam? Why does the cost to a very rich airline like Gulf Air worry you?
As to why they need it, you probably couldn’t see past your annoyance at the photos to read that it is Gulf Air’s 50th anniversary and these schemes (some of which I don’t particularly like) celebrate the fact, using the culture of both the airline and the countries it serves.
Variety is the spice of life. Cheatlines and all white schemes can be very boring.
Whatever else, I hope your posting wont start any Islamic backlash as seen on the military forum. Let’s keep religion and race out of this forum.
