Gulf-Air to more destinations

Im probably the only one interested in this… All it means is I have more choices when Im planning next years holidays. Sydney here I come in ’04!!!

News from Gulf-Air…

With effect from December Gulf Air will operate daily services to Amsterdam, Rome and Johannesburg. Flights are expected to start from 1st December

This follows an earlier statement in which its confirmed its intention to recommence daily flights to Yankieland, with New York or Washington the most likely.

Daily flights to Athens and Sydney will come on line from 23rd November. The schedule for the new destinations is yet to be finalised, and the airline also intends to fly to Baghdad as soon as the necessary clearances are obtained and the airport is secured for commercial operations.

Well, you are totally wrong for Gold Coast, it has alot more attractions than Perth, Melbourne is also better but the weather is mostly rainy, and I have read stuff on Perth, and btw Brisbane is way better than Perth, the Brisbane Greater Area(Ipswich, Logan, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Redcliffe, Redland) has more attractions!

i am an aussie and i am from perth, and for someone who has never been to perth that is a pretty ignorant comment.

thankfully i have been to brisbane and qld on a number of occasions and am able to make a qualified comment. i have lived in melbourne also, the weather there is a big detterant.

gold coast is a place to avoid at all costs, brisbane is not a par on perth, come over here and you will see why its the fastest growing capital in australia, and the 3rd most liveable city in the world.

Am didnt Gulf Air already fly to Sydney, and Steve I disagree, Sydney is alright but it is very dirty, especially in Hyde Park, a lots of thugs and homeless people and rubbish, go to Melbourne or Brisbane probably Melbourne! And also dont forget Emirates are speculating on commencing flights to USA, plus in October they will be in Brisbane arent I lucky to finally have my favourite airline visiting me! LOL!

It was annouced today that Gulf-Air along with…Emirates, Qatar Airways, Lot Polish Airlines, Royal Jordanian and SAS are to start flying to Basra in Iraq.
I cant comment on the rest, but GA starts the flights 1st September. At this stage GA will fly to Basra once a week on Mondays.

Very nice pic there of a great classic. Wish there were at least a few VC-10’s left in PAX service today.

Cheers Dave.

Excellent if you are lucky enough to fly first class and my misses is the in-flight chef!!

Its also excellent for me when I fly in the cheap seats and she is the in-flight chef, I can have 2 window or the 4 isle seats to myself(if flight isnt full), I get her crew food, drinks almost on tap and on my second from last trip out, the experience I got when flying over the Turkish border into Iran will stay with me for life!!! Im not gonna say much more about it, apart from I wish I had my camera!

Gulf air used to operate 767’s and A340’s to JFK back in 1996.
