Guppy at Bournmouth !

It seems after months of bad news, both about the museum and the future of the CL 44 0, at last signs are improving ?? web site link below. Keith.

The Bournemouth news letter has been modified, the part regarding the CL-44 is removed ???? Curious ?
I have also read somewhere of the CL-44 Asc offer mentioned above ? Keith.

Well not unless I was dreaming it was on there.

I read now on another forum that Heaylift have asked the CL44 association to find it a new home.

This aircraft & the Belfast at SEN are almost certainly never going to fly again & if something can’t be arranged VERY soon they will be scrapped:eek:.
If anyone on this forum has a serious interest in saving one or both, they should contact the CL44 Association as soon as possible, I understand that they are in a position to broker a deal.
Duxford is not an option, as neither aircraft is powered by Merlin’s!
This country could have the last chance to preserve a CL44, there are only 3 left.

PM me if you like, but I am not directly involved.

So the CL44 is not going to BAM then ?

Wow, yes it seems to have been a bit of a long haul, but I do hope that we can all savour this view for a few more years ! Just look at the nose and think Britannia ! maybe no engines or props, but hey ! Keith.

This is indeed good news. I wish the museum the very best of luck with the remaining negotiations & the move.
As for the Guppy, you couldn’t have made up the recent events surrounding this aircraft. Is it really going to be the first CL44 to be saved?! I hope so.

fantastic news that this unique aircraft doesn’t have to die a pointless death 😀
