We would be VERY intrerested in getting hold of a fishpond and or boozer indicator for Avro Lancaster NX611 ‘Just Jane’. We have only just managed to get hold of a H2S indicator that we have been looking for for years. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Sorry to stray off topic, but, do any of you experts know where I could get an indicator unit for AI Mk10.

I agree with everything you say, but I’m not sure what point you are trying to make.
You started off saying “There seems to be a little confusion about what a “fishpond” indicator looks like .hope these pics of my collection help……”
Only one of the pictures helps by showing a Fishpond Indicator, the others all do different jobs as shown in the titles.

Research your subject…….

Andy….you might have noticed that the pics uploaded have a title.they start with the type/number of indicator…that is the service way of identifying the unit in words and is to be found on the units tag,as in INDICATOR TYPE 73.

For simplicity I did NOT include THE EQUIPMENT TYPE NUMBERS,i.e. 10/DB*****

The use of “code names” for various equipments has been included with the pictures because the units displayed match both service type and number for the named systems.

This is particularly important when talking about “H2S”,many of the units advertised as being for H2S are in fact from its very near cousin A.S.V ……JUST BECAUSE THE DISPLAY BOX HAS TWO TUBES IN IT does not mean it was H2S to identify the equipment the numbers etc must be correct

A splendid collection of indicators to be sure, but I think it will only serve to confuse anybody who doesn’t know that Fishpond was the code-name for the indicator fitted to the H2S system, located in the Lancaster in the WOp’s position, to display returns from above the ground from other aircraft. In the wartime H2S this was the Indicator Type 182A, shown third from the left in the third row down of your photograph.
‘Fishpond’ is not a generic term for any Indicator…………

I have a spare Boozer indicator if anyone is interested – it’s rough and is missing one lamp but there aren’t many around…

Hi Geoff

Thanks for sharing your collection with us. Do you have any spare parts by chance? I am looking for one of the white rectangular knobs from the GEE indicator. Also you wouldn’t have a diagram or photo of what a GEE indicator looks like when it is turned on?

Thanks Paul
