Hi all,
At around 2pm this afternoon an interesting aircraft was spotted in Shoreham’s overhead, next thing we knew there was a hurricane doing a low run and break over the field!:D It parked on the restricted apron outside my flying school (I was there instructing today and it made my day.:))
Turned out it had flown down on a ‘private hire’ for a gentlemans 90th birthday, I guessed he was an ex WW2 huri pilot judging from all the medals. There was quite a crowd to greet it. I wasnt sure who the pilot was… it wasnt Anna Walker or John Ramain though!
Regards,
Buff.

Perhaps because its a ‘bargain’?
A bargain indeed. G-HURI was also offered at that price for a while I think. It doesn’t sound as if restoring Hurricanes is a very good business model. So it will be interesting to see what they finally sell for.

Agreed, although I don’t quite know why a machine with a Battle of France history is 700,000 UKP cheaper than G-HURI?

Good timing – there are two for sale on Platinum Fighters – this and the NZ example, always good to have a choice 🙂

B-17, thanks for posting. I’ve always thought that those unplanned surprise arrivals are the best!
I used to live on a houseboat at Shoreham as a boy, and would to cycle like mad to the airfield when a historic (usually MH434) arrived in the circuit. Nothing more exciting, especially when accompanied by a display.
