dark light

Had to happen sooner or later…

I found this little beastie on the Replica Fighters Association message board. Hadn’t heard of it until now….

Love that p 38 but I’d prefer a mini Rutan/ Pond Racer!

I got a closer look at that Vulcan the other week at Donington.
As mentioned before, I have the greatest admiration for anybody with the time and dedication to build and fund such an impressive beast, but it doesn’t look right.
In my opinion, the entire cockpit area looks too big.
Pic 2 is a matching Valiant under construction, Pic 3 is the Victor taken at Hucknall last year to finish the set, and Pic 4 is a 10cc V8, for Robbo who likes taking pictures of engines. Doesn’t compare with the 1/5th Merlin but it’s only about 4 inches long.

Sorry, Daz, I’ve hijacked your thread.

Now I’ve seen everything…

It’s a cute little sucker. And better looking than most sub-scale Mustangs.
Can’t wait for someone to build a plywood mini-Vulcan.

I’ve never noticed that the canopy slides backwards on this one!

Afraid not, but there was apparently an article in “Kitplanes” about it.

Some info:

55% P-38 Lightning, built by Walt Treadwell, California. Powered by two Honda engines, with belt-drive PSRUs. No performance figures, but apparently it flies great.
