HAF Downsizing

Our Mr. MoD (an ex-financial wizard) announced his plans to make the Greek armed forces better and stronger by… downsizing them.

Leaving the Army and Navy proposals aside as they are OT for this forum, regarding the HAF he announced the retirement in the next 2 years of…:

7 transport a/c. Now that i can understand. He is talking about the remaining Dakotas and the Do28s.

71 fighters. Now that number makes you stop and think. I mean some countries have smaller air forces than that. But that’s no news either, as he is referring to the A-7Hs and the ex-US ANG F-4Es. 🙁 I hate to see them go…

24 training a/c. That’s translated into “Bye-bye T-41” although my records show only 20 of these :confused:
