On visiting a local militaria dealer I came across an old photo album from the Express Motor & Body Works Ltd of Enfield, Middlesex when part of the London Aircraft Production Group. Inside was a captioned group photograph of staff members, a title page with the L.A.P logo and a hand inked drawing showing the Halifax intermediate wing sections, outer flaps and tail units that this factory produced during the war.
A further 32 good quality 20mm x 32mm b&w photographs show various stages of production from initial cutting and machining through to assembly and final loading on trailers for dispatch. All are neatly hand captioned in black ink.
Would this have been a one-off record of the company’s contribution to the war effort? In any case it is a fascinating collection and would probably be of some interest to Halifax fans, etc. Here are just a few of the photographs in the album.

Nice photos.
There was a publication made for the L.A.P workers to celebrate the production of their last Halifax… “London Pride” and a Silver commemorative Halifax model. There was one on Ebay a few years ago… The price was a bit rich for me though.

(Often thought this picture should be in the “how low can you go thread”)… Cracking aircraft the later Mk’s of Haibags….
