Halifax question

I’m just in the middle of reading Bomber Crew by John Sweetman, and in one passage it refers to a fault which caused some early Halifaxes to catch fire when the undercarriage was raised or lowered! In all the things I’ve read about early Halibag gremlins, I’ve not seen mention of this before. Can anyone elaborate on how true the above is and what exactly caused the problem?
