Hallowe'en

OK dudes, time to get silly!

Are you planning on slapping on the facepaint and masks tonight?

I’m planning on donning a full-head werewolf mask, fake fur (if I can get the right colour!) and appropriately ripped shirt and jeans for a night out. I’ll get a photo and post it on Monday 😉

Don’t you need a licence for dangerous animals these days?

I once had to stand in dressed in a gorilla costime for a halloween TV show as the proper guy didn’t show up. Lot’s of fun pouring buckets of custard over the presenters and scaring the sh*t out of young children ! 😀

Very amusing photos!

The nearest I’ve ever got to a Halloween type costume was going to a fancy dress do as a gremlin from the film “Gremlins”, and then the large ear (which is supposed to stick out at the side) kept flopping down across my face!

Incredible. I looked just like that the morning after our halloween party. Didn’t have to rent a costume or anything !:D

Thank you sir. It will grow with time – many more boxes of stuff to come. The pictures (Around a thousand so far) will be on soon too – that should really whet your appetite!

Halloween? Huh. Trick or treat? Stuff that. At this rate will be celebrating thanksgiving, independance day, with maybe the storming of the Bastille and the Winter Palace thrown in too. And you just know that Hallmark will supply a card for it!

Halloween joke:

On a DARK DARK night
On a DARK DARK street
There was a DARK DARK house
In this DARK DARK house there were DARK DARK stairs
Down these DARK DARK stairs there was a DARK DARK room
In the DARK DARK room there was a DARK DARK cupboard
In the DARK DARK cupboard there was a bloke fixing the fuse 😮 😀

Bon Fire Night

Catholics fighting Protestants some things never change even nearly 400 years after the event.

Even today some people think its to honour his attempt to blow up Parliament others to celebrate his execution.

Some interesting/useless information on Guy (Guido) Fawkes

Born: 1570 at York, Yorkshire

Baptized: 16th Apr 1570 at Saint Michael-le-Belfrey, York, Yorkshire

Schooled: Saint Peter’s in York England

14 October 1591 Fawkes leased from Christopher Lomley of Yorke, tailor, “three and a half acres in Clifton, with one other acre there, and a barn and garth attached to Gilligaite” for twenty one years

Fawkes left England in 1593 or 1594 for Flanders. He enlisted in the Spanish army under the Archduke Albert of Austria. Fawkes held a post of command when the Spaniards took Calais in 1596 under the orders of King Philip II of Spain

November 5, 1605, Fawkes was arrested in the cellars of Parliament House. He first gave his name as John Johnson. It is after this the plot unfolds to one of the greatest catholic anarcho-synidicates of the last millennium.

Died: 31st Jan 1606 at Old Palace Yard, Westminster

Other conspirators in the gunpowder plot.

Kit Wright: brother of John and schooled with Guy Fawkes, cousin of Francis Tresham.

Francis Tresham: tryed to get the other to postpone the plot.
Robert and Thomas Wintour: brothers.

Thomas Bates: servant of Catesby.

Robert Keyes: Who took charge of gunpowder at Lambeth.

Sir Everard Digby: Resided in Coughton Court; he sent the horses for the plotters.

Hugh Owen: Introduced Fawkes to Catesby.

Ambrose Rookwood: A late arrival. he was young and educated abroad.

Nah, that’s on the 5th November.

Good old Guy, the only man to ever enter parliament with good intentions.

On a positive note it seems my daughter has an overactive scrounging gene as we’ve just done the obligatory sweep of the neighbourhood and she has literally netted 5lbs of sweets!!!.

Come to think of it I’m now a little concerned that she’s been “demanding with menaces” while I’ve been stood in the street waving happily and thanking my neighbours for their generosity!!! 🙂

Apparently tonight Germaine Greer will get her revenge by flying low and looping the loop over Duxford.
