Hi All,
As you can see from the title under my avatar I’m a Mosquito nut. New Zealand was way to far to go and see a flying Mosquito, but Canada – that’s just about in range. I was wondering if there are any more nutters like yours truly that might be making the pilgrimage? If there are it would be good to me up:cool:

Hi All,
Looks like we now definitely have an FW190 booked for Hamilton – White 11 – is now confirmed. Never seen a 190 in-flight so that’s going to be something very special, too.
TTFN,
Neil

Thanks for the update, Bill – I’m drooling at just the thought of a Mosquito and an FW190 in the same airspace together – now that really would be something special!
TTFN,
Neil

I read in February’s CWH newsletter ‘Flightlines’ today that MAM’s FW190 is slated for the Hamilton A/S, and I believe their Skyraider also.

Good job Neil.
Not sure which day I’ll be going on , but let me know and we can meet up and I can initiate you in the traditional Tim Horton’s coffee and breakfast bagel before we set off. :p
That sounds like a good plan. I do like good coffee:D I shall be on-site early, though, because I’ve booked the early morning photo pass for both days.
Cheers,
Neil

Hi All,
I’m an ex-pat Brit who lives in Burlington, so I can vouch for Bill’s comment.
I went to the show last year and the transport was very well organised. As you approach the airport that’s sign-posted off the QEW, you’re directed to a large field where a fleet of school buses are waiting to take you into the airfield. The buses run in and out continually so you won’t get stranded.
Renting a car is the best bet and the hotel should have the contacts for you.
The only thing I noticed about Hamilton and Duxford’s displays is that there are sometimes long gaps of time between displaying aircraft, but thats the only niggle and it’s not really a big deal!
Maybe we can all meet up, just pack a Union Jack!

Hi Bill,
Off to the travel agent later on this morning – so I should know what I’m doing, travel wise. All my passes have been bought, so I’m fully committed to going. Roll on June!
Cheers,
Neil

Hi Neill:
Sorry been away for a few days.
Do you plan to rent a car? If so Burlington Ontario is a good location midway between Toronto Airport and Mount Hope. Last year we stayed at the Admiral Inn, right beside the QEW / Hwy 403 that will take you most of the way to the show. About 20-30 minutes drive.
If you don’t have a car then I think there are buses from Downtown Hamilton to the show, so you will probably need to stay nearby. There’s nowhere with walking distance to the show that I can think of.
Send me a PM with your email, then we can stay in touch.
Regards
Bill

Hi Bill,
Hope we can meet up – perhaps you might know a good hotel or motel close to the airfield. I shall be there both days – trying not to dribble to much when KA114 is flying:)

Neil

I will be there for sure, but I only have to travel from Ottawa, a mere 500 kms. I have been to most of the Hamilton shows going back to 1975. Will probably be there on the Saturday. Be good to meet up.
Regards
Bill

Hi Paul,
I’m now a definite for going – I may have talked a couple of like minded Mosquito anorak friends to come, too. Let me know if you’re a positive for Hamilton and we’ll try and meet up.
TTFN,
Neil

Hello Neilly,
It’s a possible at the moment but I wouldn’t rate the chances as much higher than about 20%. We have friends who live nearby now and one half of this lovely couple is itching for me to come and drag him (not surprisingly) to an airshow.
I really need to see a mosquito again, but also the Lanc and hopefully the former TFC ‘Tin-opener’.
I am very bad at going to airshows and not taking the opportunity of meeting up with yourselves. I intend to make amends for this and I’ll keep you posted if plans look like developing.

I’m thinking of going. I’ve been to Toronto before and saw the Lanc fly over. Never been to Hamilton.
