These were sent to me by an e-quaintence. Taken at Langley BC (about 40 miles east of Vancouver).
Don’t know the history of this airframe and the only reason for posting here is that it might interest one or two of you. Friend says the site was crowded without much room for photography so the pix aren’t all they could be.

The pics are very much appreciated. I heard there are plans for a Hampden instrument panel somewhere in Europe.
Cheers

Thanks for the note regarding the paint colours, put my enquiry under puzzled not angry. It is a legacy of painting loads of Airfix kits in the same two camo shades in my teenage years. Sure it would be good to have the Hampden undercover but my eyes have been opened by the series of posts by 320psi when he talks of the cost involved in resiting a relatively small building for the two Lightnings. Good luck to the museum in Canada if they have plans for a building.

Scotavia–
You probably mean the Hurricane that now belongs to Ed Russell, not too far from here at Niagara South…that one was restored for David Price in California, apparently the green and brown are authentic, but yeah, they do look different from the “norm” somehow. CWH’s Lancaster seems to wear similar shades as well. My view is that even if a slight mistake’s been made, paint’s only paint…but a flying Hurricane in Ontario is a sight for sore eyes…

I was unaware a ‘complete’ Hampden existed, if I can use the word ‘complete’ 😮
An intereting aeroplane, I know some parts are at the RAFM, are any other Hampdens in existance?
There is one at East Kirkby where Lancaster Just Jane is located

I am puzzled by the colour scheme and seem to recall a restored Hurricane also having this shade of green. Is it correct?

Lovely pics, cheers Les. Whilst it’s not quite 100% authentic (fibre glass engine cowlings, props etc), they’ve done an absolutely amazing job with this aircraft considering the condition of the remains that were recovered.
There was some discussion on this forum about this airframe back in 2003…

And there’s an excellent online article here about the aircraft’s history and recovery…
