Hampshire Losses Help Required

I am trying to trace the history of a B17 than came down in Hampshire either just offshore (near Thorney Island) or in a pond. Parts were recovered some years ago and I would like to identify which aircraft it was in order to make a display. One ofthe parts is simply marked ‘B17 Fortress part from Pond’
Any help greatly appreciated

It does thanx…I have a possible contender (a B17 near Alresford Pond), but what I was hoping is someone remembering that stuff was found/recovered.
That B17 has a fantastic history and would make a great exhibit/research project…but I need to prove these parts came from it!!!

I just wish the stuff had been adequately labelled!!
