Does anyone know if the same restrictions apply onboard private charter flights as those that apply generally ?
I’m flying with some delicate camera equipment to the Ukraine next month with a private party and wonder if I’ll be able to take any of the equipment into the cabin for safer passage ?

Ren, very much depends on where you will be departing from. The current restrictions apply to what you can take through security rather than what you can take onboard, and have been set by the DfT not the operators. So if you will be passing through security at an airport under DfT regulation (which is very likely) then the restrictions will still apply.
Easty, for the latest information look at www.dft.gov.uk and click on Airline Security.

Thanks 1L, I Imagine the departure point will be GLA and if not there then certainly a UK airport. Either way the camera equipment has to get to Kiev, so maybe it’ll end up travelling on it’s own… ?

Is this a chartered airliner or private jet?
On a private jet there are no limitations except for bagge placement.
On an airliner it’s different, you have to comply with the rules of the carrier.

That depends on the charter. A chartered plane can be chartered for a set number of passengers, weight or combination thereof. So as long as you do not bring illegal stuff on board (explosives, corrosives yadda yadda) it should be OK. Just discuss this with the guy that chartered the plane.
I’ll make some enquiries thanks. 😀

It appears to be a constantly evolving situation, but this article may be of use… ?

Hi
What is the restrictions on flights at the moment? My wife and our 3yr old are flying Aer Arran from Luton to I.O.M. next week. I have emailed The airline but not had a reply. Just wondered What she is able to carry on?
