I’m writing a short article on the Meteorological Section (Home) Royal Engineers, 1918-1919, which had its HQ at Stonehenge, and during those years provided the met service for the airfield and many others on Salisbury Plain. The main unit at Stonhenge during the period was the No 1 School of Aerial Navigation & Bomb-Dropping for HP 0/400 crews, and I’m seeking an appropriate photo of a HP 0/400 or Stonehenge as an illustration.
A long shot I appreciate but can anyone help please?

I am interested in all aspects of aviation, not just the tin. I would love to see the artical if it not tooo much trouble.

Cking,
My interest is really in meteorological history and this particular story is about a unit for which the Met Office has no record at all. My target magazine is ‘Weather’ published by the Royal Meteorological Society, but I’d be more than happy to email you a copy in due course – I try and write so there is something of interest for a wider audience than just meteorologists so hopefull it won’t send you to sleep.

Can’t help you at all but that sounds an interesting artical. Where will it be published?

A photo of a HP 0/400 (C9689) flown by the No 1 SoAN&BD at Stonehenge now acquired, but still would appreciate a photo of the airfield.
