Hi,
was just wandering if anyone has any photos of the russian spitfire they are restoring at hangar 11? http://www.hangar11.co.uk/russspit.html
it says the fuselage is ‘complete’ but not sure if its flightworthy.
any help would be appreciated,
thanks

As long as the data plate and the screws are alright then I am sure it will be “restored”

And no doubt one screw was missing too.

That’s the one! Purchased from Ikea, no doubt. Especially as it’s taken twenty years to assemble it again…:D

PT879 photographed at Airframe Assemblies on I.O.W. on 17 March 1998.
By my judgement of the leading edges, I would say it impacted snow or very soft ground inverted at about 10 degrees to the horizontal.

Is this the one I remember in FP in the late 1990s as, as a friend said, “but it’s flat!?

Here are a few photos from the Hangar 11 Facebook page from way back in late 2014 and early 2015, showing the restored fuselage and tail after being painted in its original factory delivery markings. Where not indicated, photos copyright of Hangar 11 Collection.
