Hangar History and Identification

In 1926 the main operational base for aerial photography by the RCAF was carried at Lac du Bonnet, Manitoba, Canada. An aerial photograph apparently shows a hangar being constructed during the summer of 1928. Apparently this type of hangar was designed in England, purchased by the Federal Government then shipped to Canada as sort of a kit. At a quick glance it has similarities to the Bessoneau hangars but had a planks on the roof structure. The roof of the hangar was not solely supported by the walls but by several vertical trusses sitting on concrete abutments. At the top of these trusses the hangar had cables installed along the outside of the building acting as guy-wires. These can be seen from some of the hangar’s earlier photographs. Unfortunately it collapsed in 1980, but that is another story. Any information I can get would be appreciated and is used for historical purposes of our community.
