Was there a Mitchell in ‘Hanover Street’ with the tail number ‘151132’? We have some slides of this & at least four other Mitchells, & CASA 352 G-BFHG. When & where could these have been photographed together?

The control tower is not broken up, t.
Sorry, my description was ill-phrased. It is much-abused, with big parts broken off, but it is indeed still standing.

Follow this link & it shows photo’s of the tower as it stands now.

The control tower is not broken up, it’s quite strong still, i’ve been in it & up onto the roof last summer & jumped about to see how strong the roof still is. The top greenhouse is flattened & laying on the roof of the & part of the 1st floor inside is missing. There’s no evidence of it on the floor so it must’ve been taken away years ago. The stairs leading to the basement have been filled in. It could easily be renovated but the owner is not interested in parting with it or restoring it.

Bovingdon again.
The apron where those Nissen Huts were built can be seen top right in this recent photo.
Huge amounts of waste spoil were spread around about 15 years ago which is why the broken up control tower is half submerged in an embankment.
It was all in good nick in ’78, but then again, that was 37 years ago…

Colour scheme’s wrong on her dress and her hair. Obviously not using the correct wartime shades. Typical error…
Oh and where’s her stockings?

Duxman, I noticed if you squint your eyes you can just make out a B25, please do not ask why I was squinting !!!

Yes please Argonaut. Blackbushe pictures from the WoGB period are always fascinating to see. Many thanks.
Roobarb – Never one to miss a photo opportunity as you may know I just couldn’t resist stopping on the side of the A30 in June 1978 to photograph ‘Big Bad Bonnie ‘ in this pose !!!

In the B/w set of pictures the A26c is the Don Bullock/Euroworld machine and is shown at Biggin Hill as is the CASA 352 having just been ferried in from Spain by Don Bullock and Peter Hoare. This is the aeroplane now at Cosford in the British Aiways scheme. If you look closely at the CASA you can see the dodgy markings applied for the show appearance!
Taken at Cosford, with a Hanimex 110 film camera I think, showing ‘dodgy markings’ 😀

Not great photos but some of the B25s at Blackbushe in 1978 or 79, I have some reasonable ones of the C47s and Casas if you are interested.

It was one that Euroworld ferried in from Spain, definitely. I can remember it being in Control Column as well. The other one that was at BH was on its way to the Confederate Air Force. Euroworld also ferried the one for Dolph Overton that went via Strathallan.

As far as I remember the JU-52 (possibly CASA 352) that displayed at Biggin and then moved to Cosford came from Portugal (as a gift?) and still had Portugese markings for it’s one and only UK display. I have got a couple of photos of it somewhere taken during the display but they aren’t very good.
Having had a look at the online history it is a CASA built machine ex Spanish AF. Must be my memory playing tricks. The online history I found said it was static at Biggin Hill but I am sure it flew in the display. I will dig out the photos when I can find time.
