Hopefully, CVN-80 will be named USS Enterprise. It’s my understanding that CVN-79 was supposed to be named Enterprise. Yet, the Republicans compromised with the Democrats to name it USS John F Kenndy instead. Seems like USS Franklin D. Roosevelt would have beem more appropriate.

She is my favorite warship by far.
When she goes out i hope they will name the next big Carrier Enterprise again! instead of some president.

Not sure, but there are a number of nuclear-powered ships that went on to become museums, Nautilus and Lenin come to mind.

50 years of service is certainly impressive. i wonder if her nuclear power plant will preclude her from becoming a museum upon her decommissioning. she certainly deserves the honor, but it may just be out of the realm of practicality.
