Dennis the Menace, who first appeared in the Beano 60 years ago today. Like his namesake (i.e. myself) Dennis has retained his youthful good looks and joie de vivre into middle age, although I was slightly disappointed to find that he is in fact a few years younger.
And I’ve never been able to find a red and black hooped jumper like his….

it appears that you may have misunderstood my original post – I was just congratulating the fictional character on his birthday, it’s not my birthday until the end of June. I was referring to the common characteristic that he and I share, a steadfast refusal to grow up (at least mentally). Thanks for the lead on the striped jumper, but as it’s a skinny fit I shall be giving it a miss as my current sizing is at the ‘Tubby Old Git’ stage, somewhere between XL and XXL.
