Happy bunny

After a small job in Brigg i thought id pay a visit to scampton and have my pack lunch there.Nothing like the quietness of an airfield and the occasional skylarks.
Seen as the viewing park there was locked i nestled the van into a lay by and started on my lunch, happly watching the worlds slowest tractor driver pull out the reds hawks and line them up in a perfect line.
Me ,mr squirrel (who by the way isent keen on cornbeef but did scamper away with a cheesy whatsit) sat blissfully listening to pop master. When all hell broke loose.
Im now covered in coffee,mr squirrel has legged it and left his 3rd puff.
I leave the van rapidly as most of my nether regions are aglow to be met with 8 jets in close formation with full smoke.
Van now in gear, and heading for the crash gate.
I was truly privileged to have been witness to a full aerobatic display, while stood all alone.
Now im struggling to identify the aircraft,Im thinking T50 if thats right its the ROKAF Black Eagles.

About half an hour later one returned to display solo,as he passed me along the runway on his side i gave him an impromptu round of applause. He returned the full runway on smoke turned and circled me,AND WAVED!!!!!!

I stood mouth open and watched him leave into the horizon, then turned around and realized i was alone.

still buzzing is not the word…

Whenever I was on a Course at Nettleham H.Q. we saw them fly most days, but however many times they are flying you just can’t resist standing and watching them, be it by the side of the road or wherever they are.

Lets hope they keep giving their brilliant displays.:)
