Well, as St. George was actually Turkish born, then there is no need for anyone to be offended, apart from perhaps the English themselves! 😀

No worries guys, just think we should be making more of an effort with the housekeeping given the events of the last week or so and all the efforts made to sort things out. 😀

Happy St Georges day by the way, I shall now walk along the road to St George’s Cross near my home and light a small candle.:D 😀 😉

The post was titled “Happy St Georges Day” as you can see is hasn’t got that much to do with civil aviation, but you didn’t have to click in it though if you didn’t want to.

SORRY.
IGNORE THIS POST OF MINE I DONT KNOW WHAT IM ON ABOUT!!!

I got a bit muddled up with a post and misinterprited it. Sorry again.

I agree with you dave. It’s the same thing at christmas in supermarkets, street and public christmas lights etc. At easter some people complained about hot cross buns being sold at tesco and that it may offend some people.

PLEASE don’t get me wrong!! – I think we should like we do live in a country where we are all treated them same and everything is fair to EVERYONE but sometimes I do get the feeling that England is loosing it’s identity.

I think England should do a lot more for St George’s day and it does seem strange that we do lot more St Patrik’s day but that’s in Ireland.

Happy St Georges day everyone!…

Can anyone explain why this isn’t on GD forum ? I thought we’d agreed to keep this an aviation discussion. No offence to St George fans of course.;)

Happy St Georges Day By The Way!:D

Unfortunatley the powers that be will tell us Anglo-Saxon English people that we’re are politically incorrect to fly the St.Georges Flag and that we might offend any immigrants. Then they allow a St.Patricks Day march in London, the HIndus to celebrate Dawali and the Moslems to celebrate Ramadan before they then celebrate Eid……………..we are fast losing our identity!!!

I agree LBARULES. Thats why we fly the St George’s cross every day of the year on a very tall flagpole in our garden. (And for any of you idiots who dont know what that is, its the English flag, the red cross on a white background). Thats another thing, most people in my school didnt even know the the English flag was the St Georges cross until they were nearly 12 (carried out by a survey here). The majority thought it was the Union Jack. They want a good seeing to.

It is the national day of the Patron Saint of England St George.
He is famous for slaying an evil dragon, but whether it happened on the 23rd April or not I am not too sure!
