Hard points on variable geometry aircraft

Taking a cue from the thread on the FBC-1 and Panavia Tornardo, I was wondering why is the Panavia Tornado able to have hard points on it’s variable geometry wings but the F-14 and F-111 is not able to do so. Wouldn’t considerable turbulence occur at the hard points when the variable geometry gear swings into action on the Tornardo?
