Hi
I am having a little difficulty in confirming the date of a collision between
Harrier GF3s XV790 & XZ136.
Pilots:-
Lt John Carver (US Navy exchange) XZ136
F/Lt. David Robin Sunderland XV790
Both of 3 Sqn.
The date in D Waltons book is 02/11/1987
But the only D R Sunderland I can find in the GRO is Sept 1988.
Can anyone provide the correct date & their service numbers
regards
Chris

The crash was definitely November 87,

The aircraft & pilots were from 3 Squadron.
That list is almost a major airforce.Quite a shock really

“Cat.4 The damage sustained requires special equipment not available on site and the aircraft must be moved for repair at an established Service repair depot. (Cat.4(SER)) or to a contractor’s works (Cat. 4(WKS)). A Cat. 4(FLY) aircraft may be flown from a site, after temporary repairs have been carried out, to the repair agency for full repairs.
Cat. 5 The aircraft is damaged beyond economic repair.”

Just a reminder when posting requsts like this. Please put something in the title of the thread such as a possible Year of the crash. Without doing so, it can be mistaken for a recent crash and cause undue worry and concern before the people viewing the forum click onto the message to view the thread.
