CThese two aircraft were with 3Sqn RAF when they collided over the Otterburn ranges.
Can anyone provide the Sqn ID and the individual aircraft ID letters please

Hi Chris
Just to confirm the codes, I have photos of both XZ136 and XV790, both dated 1987, and both from MAP.
XZ136 is indeed O – it’s a bit difficult to make out on the Flickr photo, but it’s in black above the tail flash.
XV790 is marked as AP, and I have another photo taken the year before with it wearing the code AO.

http://www.airnorth.demon.co.uk/section3zart3.htm has XV790 as AP & XZ136 as O.
There is a photo of XZ136 on Flickr taken on the 19th October 1987, http://www.flickr.com/photos/gerbenwessels/3761384156/ so I recoken we could safely say it looked exactly the same just before it crashed. You can see the O on the upper part of the tail fin.
