Harrier Update.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 09-08-02 AT 09:35 PM (GMT)]I know this isnt really realated with this forum, but this message is really for anyone who attended Farnborough this year. The Harrier jet that crashed into the sea at Lowerstoft airshow this year was the exact same that was at Farnborough, its a scary thought really, if you thik about it, that same a/c could of easily crashed at Farnborough?!?

Pics below of before and after shots. :'(

Ja,

Do you go into a cave now and then? This was all over the news ‘down here’ and any number of net news sites had a story on it too. 🙂

RE: Harrier Update.

Andrew,

yes, I believe it was the same pilot as the RAF usually selects one pilot to fly the whole season as solo display pilot for each type the RAF chooses to display.

RE: Harrier Update.

Sure Ja. At Lowerstoft air show in the UK this year, a Harrier was doing its part in the show, its was flying over the sea. When the pilot attempted a hovering manouver, one of the engines cut out, causing the a/c to ditch into the sea. The pilot eject seconds before impact and survived the crash. It crashed only a few 100 yards from spectators.

And in answer to your question, yes the nose was broken but it is still hanging on to the a/c.

Hope this fills you in a bit more. 🙂
