Harry's game

Is it in the public interest for the UK press to publish naked photos of Prince Harry ?

Some think it is :

Yes, I would, since British armed forces personnel are trained, when on duty, to behave in a totally professional, and dedicated fashion, and we are justifiably proud of them, an emotion that no amount of snide remarks, from the likes of you, will change.

+1, Edgar I agree, You would be surprised at some of the antics some of my mates on my old job did, when off duty, then when on duty next, they were strictly professional, and a credit to the Force, For them, it was a release of pent up pressure. One cannot honestly comment unless you have “Been there, got the “T” shirt etc. They and others on the job put their lives on the line every day as we never knew what the next shout would be, I cannot even begin to think of the pressure our lads suffer mentaly when at war. I know an American who was in the Vietnam war, He is a Copper over there,USA, and still has flashbacks at what he saw and did.

Should never happen, anyone else in the rank would be having a chat sans tea and biccies, and possibly be looking for another Job.

Except, of course, if it had been anyone else, the Sun wouldn’t have seen a money-making opportunity, and put him on its front page.

As for “torn off a strip by his Father”. Which one?

Crude, and unworthy.

Just picking up where Uncle Andy left off. He was the subject of photographic full disclosure, as well tales of exploits with the improbably named Katie Rabbit and the aptly named Koo Stark.

After this, if you had a son in the forces would you be comfortable placing his life in Harry’s hands given his seeming lack of threat recognition?.

Kev, forgive me if I am perhaps a little lax on the lad.
He daily lives, when on service, with the distinct prospect of death.

As did I and do all members of the forces.
I might agree with you IF he was just of the plane from combat, but the last time we saw him was at the Olympics where he had VIP seats, and not even on military duty like his forces counterparts.

Again, I’m not as much criticizing his morals, just his judgement (or lack thereof) that allows us to know about his naked romp with strangers.

Simply put, he showed a huge lack of judgement by not recognizing the risks to his (and family) reputation with these actions.

After this, if you had a son in the forces would you be comfortable placing his life in Harry’s hands given his seeming lack of threat recognition? Hopefully in combat he’d be great, but these actions just might give one pause.
Again, something to think about.

The military has a be all and end all charge they can get you on and that’s bringing the Airforce / Army / Navy into disrepute.

True it was in private, but then in his position a photo like this would be worth thousands to a newspaper, what has let him down are possibly his security detail cameras/ phones should have been removed from the erm guests in a party like this.

End of the day the cat is out of the bag so they are doing damage limitation, hence the hogwash they were putting out about relaxing from one part of his career to another……

I think Harry needs some sort of ‘whipping boy’ to stand in for him on occasions that may cause him embarrassment…

…not that I’m suggesting he’s into that sort of thing by the way! 😉 Any takers? 😀

I forgot to add that for once I agree with the interview I saw with David Prescott on BBC1 at lunchtime who ended his interview about the reasons for this “unroar”* with three words “money, money ,money”

*Apparantley out of sixty three million people living in the UK the Press Complaints Comission have received only 60 complaints so far.

Also Prince Harry according to another newspaper has been “torn off a strip” by his Father, the well known adulterer. Glasshouse and stones come to mind.

To Prince Harry who I like and admire for making Royalty more human just this bit of advice
“keep your friends close but your enemies closer”

Moggy +1 as well.

It would be interesting to know how many of the people criticising him could live with the pressure that he is under through no fault of his own but the accident of birth.

Everywhere he goes, every time he meets someone, he knows that they are likely to have a hidden agenda in wanting to be his friend and meet with him. It must be incredibly difficult to work out who he can trust, and in this example he has been let down very badly by someone.

It would be nice if some of the criticism being directed to him were directed to the people who have no doubt made quite a bit of money out of photos that they were only able to take as a consequence of the trust that he extended towards them.

Moggy, EXACTLY my sentiments. Yes maybe he should have been more careful, it’s marvelouse what a “Pint or two” can do. Havn’t most of us been there at some stage in our younger days?.And whats it got to do with us anyway?.

It can’t have failed to cross his mind that because of his slightly dubious provenance it would do the Royal Family no harm at all to be seen to be sharing the sacrifice in that conflict as so many other families have done.

I suspect he is not given all the milk-run missions.

That being the case, why not grab what he can, when he can?

Moggy
