Harvard / Tiger Moth Info Please

Hi guys and girls
I’m always impressed with the knowledge here and the size your reference libraries must be. Can you help me ?

Question 1 : A DH82A Tiger Moth was held by the ATC Squadron at Hounslow Middx (next to the Hounslow East Tube station) but was broken up/burnt
many years ago (late 60S ?) I managed to salvage the fuel tank, which is/was at Winthorpe. What was serial and c/n of this Tiger ?

Question 2 : Newark have/had two Harvard fuselage (cockpit) tubular sections. What were their serials and c/n ?

I came across this thread whist searching for anything on Heston Aerodrome (my pet subject)

I recall finding what I assume was that very same fuel tank, thrown over a wire fence that ran along side an alley way at the back of Kingsley Road, behind where the old 86 Sqn HQ stood. It would have been early seventies I think?

About the same time I joined 86 Sqn, by then based at Heston TA centre and recall seeing a seat and instrument panel and various other bits and pieces which I was told came from the Tiger Moth.

Interestingly some 35 years later I find myself attached to 187 (City of Worcester) Sqn… and in the stores the other day I found the gun sight and various instruments in a box from the Spitfire that once stood outside the Sqn building…..

BTW if any one has any snippets, memorabilia, photos (especially y after closure) of Heston Aerodrome…I would love to make contact with them…..

1960-1 before joining RAF
Don’t know when it moved

I used to live about 10 mins walk from Hounslow East Tube, and as far as I’m aware there was no ATC squadron based there.I was in the ATC for a couple of years in the mid-90’s as a member of 86Sqn (Heston & Isleworth),which was much further away. Presumably the Hounslow East squadron was disbanded by then.

The hounslow Tiger Moth was EM967 according to ‘wrecks and relics 3’ from 1968, this is currently registered as G-AHOO and has a current CofA . So if W&R is correct it was not burnt? Anybody expand, photos?

On a harvard they are on the left hand tube by the pilots knee – or on the roll over hoop top or bars leading to it…they are often nicked though….
