ICELANDAIR

Had some friends fly between Gatwick and Baltimore…back in 1997. They loved the flight and were pleased with the generous with baggage limits on the way home…to bring back all the bargains they found in the U.S. (including a high value bike and chainsaw).

Take a look at CarSurvey.org for reviews:

Not very recent, but lots on there to read about.

Yes I have. I flew GLA-KEF-BOS-KEF-GLA with them in March 2002.
They were all of what Bmused said, and punctual too.

Icelandair flies nearly daily with one of their 767-300ER’s to the Carribean from Brussels. BelgiumExel obviously can’t operate all flights.

can you blame them for loving them? RB211 powered 752’s… *sigh*

Icelandair love the 757’s. I think they are part of the reason a 300 variant came out.

Or of course you can avoid there high fares by flying with Iceland express direct to Keflavik from London Stansted and Copenhagen.

You know , when we went there it was a package from lastminute.com from CDG + hotel for 4 days , and it wasn’t that bad.

From their site :
================================================================
Icelandair offers its passengers reliable high technology Boeing 757 aircraft. They are equipped with the latest and most advanced safety equipment, and in many areas above that generally required by international airline operating regulations. Additionally, they also satisfy the most stringent international environmental requirements, both regarding noise and engine emissions.

Icelandair, and its founding airlines, Icelandair (Flugfélag Íslands) and Icelandic Airlines (Loftleidir), have been in air transportation since 1937, and have operated international flights since 1945. Turboprop aircraft were introduced in 1957, and turbojets in 1967. During the years 1989-1992 Icelandair renewed its whole fleet with brand new Boeing 737-400 and 757-200 jets and Fokker 50 turboprop aircraft. During the summer of 2003 Icelandair will operate a total of 12 Boeing 757 aircraft, of which ten are B757-200, one B757-300 and one B757-200F all-freighter. Most of the fleet is allocated to serve the traditional scheduled air routes between Iceland and other countries, whereas some aircraft are leased to fly in various Icelandic and foreign charter services In the beginning of July 2003 the average age of this fleet is about eight years, whereas the average age of the 11 B757 aircraft used in international passenger operations is only 7.5 years.

No I haven’t but I hear only good things from their service.

Clean cabins, comfortable seats, generally immaculate aircraft (They have to be, they’re 757’s 😉 ), friendly cabin and ground staff.

Yep.
It was a good and uneventful flight. AFAIR it was in Apr 2002 from CDG- Rejkiavik (spelling,) round trip.

On time and good service.
