My dad was based as RAF lyneham as part of his national services. Must have been about 51. He did his NS at 21 not sure why anyway. He always told a story about converting the insde of a Hastings in to a fly board room come conference room.
Could this have happened?
Sorry for the spelling

It would have been easy to fit suitable board room furniture into a standard Hastings cabin, held down using the cargo/seat floor attachments. Although it is difficult to see how it would have been used while the aircraft was parked on the ground due to the fuselage slope. Not a problem in the air but no one could hear then due to the engine noise!
I dont think the four, sound proofed, VIP configered C4 Hastings WD500, WJ324/5/6 had a large table as part of the VIP conversion judging by the interior pictures I have seen.

I could believe that too, they had a VIP VC10 go tech so threw the interior in the spare jet loose and fitted it enroute to Heathrow lol.

If I remember correctly it flew to Paris with them still finishing it.

Yes I could believe it, when Maggie went the Falklands I seem to remember they had a glorified VIP cabin/ freight container that slid into the Herc, was strapped down and plugged in. Therefore giving the VIP passengers something a bit more comfortable and quieter than the standard Herc.
