dark light

Have a nice weekend,but also …..

…… please spare a thought for Lincoln7.

The old boy is going into Addenbrooks Hospital on Sunday and having a very serious operation on Monday.

He’s too modest to make another mention of it on the forum,so please join me in wishing Jim the very best possible outcome for his op,and strength for him and his family during this worrying time.

Don’t be away too long, Jim !

Cheers.

Jim, don’t be surprised if he gets a flask out.

Maybe I shouldn’t mention this in case the sentimental old codger reads it,but Jim did tell me a couple of days ago via facebook, that he wished he and his forum friends could all get together for a group hug before he went into hospital.
I think this thread is proof of the affection that he inspires on here.
What a nice lot you are.

Hmm, Just a thought re your remark about behaving myself, wonder if they have a Hospital Forum I could join whilst there?……..Now that would drive them (Bedpan) Potty :highly_amused:

Hi Jim, I will be thinking of you, look forward to you being back on here after you have recovered from hospital food and the stress of looking at nurses in uniform!!

I rest my case. The last time I was this generous was the jubilee, the silver one in 1977.
You might have to wait a long time for my next outburst of generosity if you miss this one…!

For once in my life, I am lost for words, words that can’t describe what all you chaps, not forgetting Anne, (Thanks Anne, you must have a good memory),have meant to me by posting your “Get well soon” messages on here.Yes, Paul is right re the Surgeon, who is an Abdominal Cardio Vascular Surgeon, who has never come across what he has to face on Monday, so understandably I and my family are quite concerned.
It certainly bring one down to Earth,, as to what really matters in life, me?. T.B.H. it’s my family first, and secondly, it’s strange to believe, but you guys and girls, on the Forum. Yesterday, was the last day I will be going out, so we decided what I would like to do. We went to Sheringham Norfolk, stopped off at a nice Hotel for a nice Crab Salad, and I had a Pint of Adnams, Bitter called,” Nelsons Revenge”, the sun was out, and it was boiling hot.
On the way home I got to thinking just what matters in life, and the main thing, to me was friends, such as those who have posted on here. It wouldn’t be fair to single out any friend in particular, such as Paul with his witty banter, along with a few more. But all said, we are a “Band of Brothers”
Moggy, Thanks for all your support over the last few weeks, as you were the only one who knew the full story, and offered help in any way needed.
Hope to be back here again soon, and Kev, as you say, re the Nurses, I think they will need Councilling after I get there.
Keep smiling…………..:D
Jim.

Yes Kev even intercession by the pope will hardly help I fear. I think when you went to the Victor Meldrew school of charm for gentlefolk it is a fore lawn hope!

Come on Jim get you backside on here and answer us!

Might I respectfully suggest that any of us of a Religious persuasion offer a prayer for the staff? Having Jim in their care they’ll probably need it.

In all due seriousness I do hope all goes well for you and that you are back here as soon as possible.

Regards,

Kevin
