Have you switched energy supplier? What's it like?

I’m a little old fashioned when it comes to switching energy suppliers. To be honest I’m a little nervous.
USwitch shows me saving £230 a year.
So I was wondering if you have switched and was it a positive experience?
I’m thinking of using OVO.

Good but rather obvious advice. I was never “sold to”. I made an exhaustive search of the options and made my own decision. At no time was I approached by any supplier to change.

Before agreeing to swap insist on getting a written copy of the current tariff. Sit down with a calculator and a cup of tea then work out the future cost based on your actual kWh used in the last year as shown by your last four quarterly bills from your existing provider. Above all don’t believe a word of what they tell you especially over the phone.

I switched from British Gas to E.on and it was virtually seemless – took about 6 weeks – and I am paying less per energy unit for gas and electricity and checked rates last week.

I am puzzled how everyone can seem to save money by swapping.I am a companies best friend and i daresay mug, same car insurance for umpteen years, same ,leccy, gas, phone company for seems like ever.I keep getting told to change my bank account but the thought of all the direct debits etc and hassle-can do without it.
Sorry Hampden i am the worst person to ask 😮
