Hawaiian struck by lightning

Lightning struck a Hawaiian Airlines plane flying from Honolulu to Hilo on Friday. Hawaiian spokesman Keoni Wagner says no one was injured but the lightning caused some superficial damage to the plane.

a few years ago i was sitting in BHD when an Air Berlin (the smaller jet, what was it they used to fly??) had just landed with a lightning strike to its nose. There was a black mark on the nosecone and the outbound flight was cancelled. Im not a nervous flyer at all but when theres thunderstorms hovering about i tend to get a little uneasy. Also especially since thunderstorms are pretty rare in this part of the world 😀

It’s very regular occurrence in the far North of Queensland with their Tropical climate

Steve, about 8 -10 years ago when departing from Sydney to Perth, there was a big storm at the airfield. Our Quantas Captain told us about the delay due to the storm.I cannot remember the exact figure but he told us about 7 Quantas aircraft had been struck by lightning and 6 Ansett aircraft.I assume other airlines also must have been hit.
I wonder if this was a record for one day.
