Bringing a welcome addition to the high load factor Australia-Hawaii ( and beyond ) route is Hawaiian Airlines which will begin a four times a week service linking Sydney with Honolulu in May
Hawaiian will fly the route with it’s 767-300ER aircraft in a two class configuration of 18/234 while services will add an extra 54,000 seats annually to the route which is becoming a popular gateway to Canada as well as catering for the growing Hawaiian cruise market

Welcome addition, indeed. It’s bad enough NZ pulled out of the LAX-SYD route a year or so ago. Prices on that route have gone through the roof. I was looking up rates for December later this year, and they are $2200US for QF, UA, and NZ. Ridiculous. Also good to see another U.S. carrier down there.
