I’m sure there was a thread on here regarding the Hawk which has been put into a scheme to commemorate the introduction of the Spitfire to 19 Squadron in 1938.
This thread had links to photographs of XX184 being stripped of its gloss black scheme and repainted into the BoB style livery. If I remember correctly it was a sequence showing the progression of the project. Does anybody have any idea where I can find it please?

Smashing paint job. Much nicer than the horrid black scheme, which must add another 10 degrees to the airframe temperature cycling in summer.
Hawk is my favourite aircraft. I liked the old red and white training colours best.
Yes …black aircraft are a cow to work on,temperature being one thing and also when trying to visually check the airframe esp underside in a fairly dingy hangar, any light scource just disappears into the blackness.
cheers baz

A few years ago there were a few spitfires painted in washable temporary schemes for films and a photo shoot.
How about temporarily painting AR213 and ‘The Spitfire Society Prototype’ in matching ‘A’ flight and ‘B’ flight colours.
Of course AR213 could formate with the Hawk

That looks fantastic, just goes to show that there are still some service bods that can cemorate our past with a bit of care and research.

I must admit I like these ‘start to finish in pictures articles’, makes you realise just how much goes into keeping our vintage aircraft looking as good as they do.
