Hawk flying at Duxford

I saw from my house that the Hawk took off at approx 3.38pm today. And it’s still up as I type this. Sorry, no photos 🙁

Doh! I’ve just checked in here and read this thread. I’ve been wondering all afternoon what it was that was circuling over my house. I’d been thinking Harvard / Yak11 but neither seemed to be right – just sussed it.

I believe TD248 was about, the BA Eagle and the funky AN2, as well.

And a Chinook -as if you’d care!

The Hawk flew at around mid-day in the hands of Stu Goldspink and then again around 3:30 with Pete Kynsey at the controls.

In the meantime Ray Hanna, Pete Kynsey and Lee Proudfoot all took MH434 up and Stephen Grey was out in EP120.

Great to see the Hawk of course, but I would have to say the highlight of the afternoon was Ray Hanna in the Spitfire…… As ever truly a privilege to witness.

Oh….. and John Romain was out in the HFL Mk.XVIII. I knew I’d forgotten one….. 🙂

Yes, this is great news. Another great addition to the UK scene.

Well done.

Just Landed

Curtis Hawk 75 just landed after its 1st flight at DX – I think in the capable hands of Pete Kynsey – sorry my camera has packed up – but there were plenty of people there with cameras.

All seemed ok – most of the flight was conducted well to the north of DX.

Earlier everyone seemed to be having a play with MH434, including Ray Hanna – Stephen Grey also flew EP120.

Best regards

Jason
