Restoration is by Retrotec, and has been ongoing for some years.
Looks like we are getting close.

Done.

Yes, by Historic Flying, I think. I believe that it is scheduled to fly at some point later this year, although I’ve not seen any pictures indicating how close the wings are to being done…

That Fury looks absolutely fantastic!
Numpty question as I’m unaware of the project, but is it a restoration to fly?
Liking the ‘yimby’ thing, a new movement me thinks!:D

Always wondered about that replica. They didn’t seem to have any trouble at all getting a permit for it.

Breathtaking!
This is one aircraft that I cannot wait to see flying! I recall seeing I think the replica built by Viv Bellamy with an original Kestrel engine beating up Booker
as I was doing circuits in the early 80’s. It passed me in my Tomahawk, seemed like I was flying backwards. Later on I watched it land what a sound! My late father as a teenager in the mid 30’s regaled me with tales of Fury’s up from Tangmere formation looping above him in the summer of 37. Spectacular does not begin to sum up this beauty, congratulations to all involved.

I am definitely a YIMBY!
And its also very nice to keep a “watching brief” on the DH9 after an intimate association with it from its days in India. Can’t wait to see that one fly!

Fury, Demon, 2 Nimrods and Hind up from Old Warden before the end of the year then!!

It’s enough to turn you into a YIMBY…
Yes- in my back yard !
By: ThreeSpool - 16th June 2011 at 13:22
Aah, neighbours you could grow to like. 😀

Agreed, sounds brilliant.
I can confirm it sounded brilliant “in the flesh”.
Luckily for me the ground-run was just the other side of my garden hedge. Incredible!

Just SO MEAN!! The one machine I so much wanted to fly, after 75 hours on Harts & Hinds, but the squadron re-equipped.
Furricane? So right – just take off the top wing & you’re converted.
Oh, but do remember the undercarriage!!
= Tim
Would you visit it, Tim, or would it be too maddening for words to see it and not be able to get a flight?
